새로운 미래를 개척하여 인류사회에 공헌하는 물리학과

Welcome!

As is well known, Physics is the most basic academic in Natural Sciences. Its research area covers from the interactions of elementary particles and to the origin of the Universe for understanding the fundamentals of the Nature.

The Department of Physics offers Undergraduate courses leading to the degree of Bachelor and the Graduate courses leading to the degrees of Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy. The Undergraduate curriculum provides the students with a firm ground of physics including the classical physics and the modern physics developed since 20th century. This enables the student to make excellent preparation for a career in physics or in other academics and will also help the students who want to go directly into industrial positions.

The graduate curriculum provides advanced courses in physics both in classroom and research experience. This also provides the training in education and research including high energy physics, condensed matter physics, nuclear physics, plasma physics, accelerator physics, statistical physics, and optics. We are equipped with necessary research facilities and are extending the facilities.

The acquisition of knowledge is even more important in the knowledge-based society of the 21st century. Knowledge is no more the monopoly of a specific class and its vertical structure, where knowledge flows from the higher to the lower, is changing, and the parallel structure of knowledge appears nowadays. Internet has the most important role in this change. Email and World Wide Web were first developed for enhancing the communication efficiency in physics society. Acquiring and exchanging knowledge via internet is very important.

We welcome your visit to our homepage and hope that you use it for obtaining more information on Physics and the Department of Physics.
